Michaela Roberts, MD

Hello! My name is Michaela Roberts, and I was born and raised in Monroe, Michigan. I attended the University of Toledo in Ohio for my undergraduate where I majored in biology with a minor in public health. I received my Bachelors in 2018 and continued straight to medical school at St. George’s University in the country of Grenada. I did clinical training in several states including California, New York, and Florida where I was able to work with a diverse patient population. I am very excited to return to the Midwest for residency in Fort Wayne.

I was drawn to family medicine for residency because I love the natural connection of the specialty with public health. Prevention and facilitation of services are everyday tasks of a family medicine physician. I also enjoy forming a connection with patients and seeing the whole picture of their health. Fort Wayne Medical Education Program was an easy choice for residency. I have an additional interest in OB and women’s health so their strong curriculum with additional OB certification allows me to grow in all of my interest areas. The faculty and residents were very welcoming and supportive throughout the interview process and beyond. I am fortunate to be a part of this team!

Outside of medicine, I love traveling. I have been to over 40 of the 50 states, most of which have been during road trips. I have done clinical and volunteer work in several countries including Kenya, Guatemala, and Spain. I also enjoy reading a variety of books in my free time. My favorite books are retellings of mythology and folktales which give new perspective to well-known stories and characters.  I also like spending time with my friends and family exploring new areas, hiking, and trying new foods.
